The Page-Chess ICE is a Shareware. If you intend to use
Page-Chess ICE after the trial period of 30 days, you
must register your copy of Page-Chess ICE or stop using it.
Once registered, you are granted a non-exclusive licence to use
Page-Chess ICE on one computer at a time. The registered
Page-Chess ICE software may not be rented, leased or transferred.
Once registered the individual/company who purchased the licence
will recieve support and any upgrades/new releases at no extra fee.
Page-Chess ICE unregistered shareware may be freely distributed,
provided the distribution package is not modified. No person or
company may charge a fee for the distribution of Page-Chess ICE
without written permission from the copyright holder.
Page-Chess ICE is distributed "AS IS" and you assume full responsibility
for determining the suitability of Page-Chess ICE and for results obtained.
CT makes no warranty that all errors have been or can be eliminated
from Page-Chess ICE software and, with respect thereto, CT shall not be responsible for losses, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind resulting from using or misusing Page-Chess ICE including without limitation, any liability for business expenses, machine downtime,damages experienced by you or any third person as a result of any deficiency, defect, bug, error or malfunction. Run SETUP.EXE and install
Using ICE:
ICE is a "Peer to Peer" chess program.It is perfectly suited to play against
opponents on the internet/lan.To use this software you will need the IP
of your opponent.
ICE has two modes:
SERVER
The server hosts the game,and is also WHITE.
CLIENT
The client requires the IP of the server,and thus will also be BLACK
Once the connection is made,the game can begin
Clicking the "Reset" button will ,as the name suggests,reset ICE and
close all connections.
You cannot change state from SERVER to CLIENT or visa versa while in
a game.To change state use the "Reset" button.
Keeping your eye on the "status bar" can help in using ICE.
The "Chat" button and "Movelist" button [found next to the "Stay on top" toggle] will show/hide the appropriate windows.
The small button with a "1" of will initiate a One player game against the computer.
Idea behind ICE:
Simplicity,pure and simply.There is NO "take back" function,no "timed/rated games".Just connect and play.This allows both novice and experienced players a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy chess,rather than compete.
